In 2003 Bombardier Transportation provided D&P with a contract to upgrade the facilities at Holyhead for the Voyagers running on the cross country route. The facilities provided included:
In addition to this work, Wrekin Construction working on behalf of Network Rail contracted with D&P to decommission the existing fuelling facility.
The facility was opened by Charles Belcher, Managing Director of Virgin Trains West Coast on 13 December 2004.

- CET emptying
- Fuelling
- Shore supplies
- Two road maintenance shed with a maintenance pit
